Legends and Folktales
Acadian folklore stems from the repertoire of the first settlers who came from France to build Acadie in the 17th century. It was then extended through contact with the different First Nations, European and Canadian groups who have inhabited the land. Today, various initiatives are in place to better preserve this important cultural heritage.
